"Some know the value of education by having it. I knew its value by not having it."    Frederick Douglass

HerStory

As a native Atlantan, and a product of Atlanta Public Schools, it gives me great joy to serve the Douglass High School community. After studying Communicative Arts and receiving an undergraduate degree from Spelman College, my educational career began as an English teacher, serving as Department Chair in two metropolitan Atlanta districts and eventually growing into administrative positions both at the school and district levels. Twenty-eight years as an educator has afforded me unparalleled opportunities to serve so many students, parents and teachers, many of whom remain a part of my life even now. It is a phenomenal feeling to have a role in the village that supports our students.
